12.7.09 New SnowNew snow continues to fall in South Lake Tahoe. Here is a picture showing the amount of snow that has fallen today from the current storm.
As you can see the tape measure shows +/- 21 inches. These pictures are taken from a unit located next to the Stageocach Lift at Heavenly Mountain Resort at the 7000 foot elevation level. More storms are predicted for the rest of the week so skiing should really improve starting today.
Heavenly Mountain Resort Snow Making Pictures 11.2.09Here are some picture taken today (11.2.09) of the snow making near the East Peak Lodge at Heavenly Mountain Resort. The snow was probably made when we had the cold weather a little over one week ago. This picture shows Dipper Express on the left and Comet Express on the right. The snow on the run in the distance is what Heavenly created. The snow you see is at the very bottom of the run that feeds you into Dipper Express and Comet Express.

Heavenly Mountain Resort Epic PassAn adult epic pass is $599 for a full season of phenomenal skiing or snowboarding at six mountain resorts (Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek, Heavenly and Arapahoe Basin). There are no restrictions, no blackout dates and the link listed below suggests it is on sale through November 22, 2009.
Opening Day?According to the article in the Tahoe Daily Tribune it looks like Heavenly Mountain Resort plans to open November 20, 2009. Taylor Creek Visitor Center and Stream Profile Chamber
Now is the time of year to go visit the Taylor Creek Visitor Center for the annual spawning run of the Kokanee Salmon. It is located 15-20 minutes from the Casinos in South Lake Tahoe. The trails around Taylor Creek are level and a very easy walk.
