The snow has already started and will continue until late Sunday night. Weather reports for the Heavenly North Area suggest at least 2 feet of snow will fall before this storm passes.

It is snowing at Heavenly Mountain Resort right now. Another winter storm coming in now and will become more intense this weekend.

The elevation of the Heavenly North area (Boulder Lift and Stagecoach Lift) should get 1 to 3 feet by Sunday.

Should be great skiing and snowboarding all weekend and into next week.

The Genoa Bar is located in Genoa, Nevada about 20 minutes from the Launch Lake Tahoe, Inc Vacation Rentals and South Lake Tahoe. Heavenly Mountain Resort announced they will stay open until May 4, 2008. This will provide a great opportunity for many spring skiing days.

WIND HOLD
Always check the Heavenly Mountain Resort website to make sure all lifts are running because sometimes high winds will force lifts to close down for a period of time or the entire day. Often, the first to close down are the Gondola and Sky Express and soon after the Comet Lift and Dipper Lift.

Woke up to 2 feet of snow in the Heavenly North Area. Heavenly is currently closed so they can catch up with making the mountain safe. Heavenly will probably open in the next hour or so.

If you are not up here right now... the weather is supposed to improve this week and next weekend could be a great time to come up and ski or snowboard.

MOTT CANYON
On a good powder day you will hear random screaming and hollering from the skiers and snowboarders in Mott Canyon. This noise is not the look-at-me screams you find when very average tourists draw attention to themselves, but the genuine screams of excitement as each skier and boarder gets face shots of powder as he/she descends Mott Canyon.

Mott Canyon is an experts only area on the Nevada side of Heavenly Mountain Resort. This area is accessed through marked

There are two access points on the Nevada side of Heavenly Mountain Resort (Stagecoach Lift/Lodge and Boulder Lift/Lodge). I recommend the Boulder Lift and Lodge for all beginner skiers/snowboarders. The Boulder Lift/Lodge area has food and drink, ski school, rentals and the Magic Carpet(for beginners).

You can access the entire mountain from the Boulder Lift and it is a very easy to get to the brand new Olympic Chair from this access point.

Woke up to another 3 feet of new snow in the Heavenly North Area (Stagecoach Lift and Boulder Lift) of Heavenly Mountain Resort. It has been very windy and snowing all day so I am willing to bet this storm will give us another 40 inches or more. More snow is predicted for the rest of the week.
